The game began with an explosive first quarter from the Pelicans, who put up 36 points against the Celtics' 25. Despite this strong start, momentum shifted as they scored only 24 in the second quarter. The third saw a slight uptick with 27 points added to their tally before closing out with another solid performance of 25 in the fourth. However, it was not sufficient to claim victory on this occasion.

The New Orleans team showcased a balanced offensive effort throughout the game. They shot an effective field goal percentage of 56 percent and were particularly dominant inside, scoring a remarkable total of 58 points in paint off of a high conversion rate of paint attempts (74 percent). Their two-point shooting was also noteworthy as they made an impressive number of baskets (36) from such attempts (64 percent).

Defensively though, there were challenges for New Orleans as they allowed Boston to score heavily in return – conceding a total of 118 points against them. Despite these struggles and trailing by as much as six on plus-minus scale during playtime, they managed six blocks and seven steals which reflected their resilience on that end.

From beyond the arc, however, it was tough going for New Orleans; converting only ten out of thirty-five three-point attempts which amounted to just under one-third success rate (29 percent). On free throws too there was room for improvement despite making ten from thirteen attempted shots (77 percent).
