Pelicans Soar Past Rockets with Commanding 127-105 Victory

The New Orleans Pelicans have extended their impressive season record to 34-22 after a dominant performance against the Houston Rockets, who now stand at 24-31. The final scoreline read a convincing 127-105 in favor of the home team, showcasing the Pelicans' offensive might and defensive solidity.

In front of an enthusiastic crowd of 17,421 at the Smoothie King Center, the Pelicans demonstrated why they are one of the formidable teams this season. They led for over three quarters of the game duration, clocking in a substantial time leading at 41:38. Their largest lead was an overwhelming 29 points, which underlined their control throughout the contest.


The home team's statistics were reflective of their dominance on court. The Pelicans boasted an efficiency rating of 152 and shot with remarkable accuracy from both inside and outside the arc. They made half-century field goals on a stellar shooting percentage of 52 percent overall and were nearly as impressive from beyond three-point range with a solid shooting performance that saw them make sixteen out of forty-one attempts for a conversion rate rounding to about 39 percent.

New Orleans also excelled in fast-break situations, scoring an impressive total of twenty-nine fast-break points off eighteen attempts. This aspect was crucial in setting up their transition offense that kept Houston on its heels throughout.


Defensively, they were just as imposing; recording six blocks and sixteen steals which contributed to thirty-four points off turnovers - highlighting their ability to convert defense into offense effectively. The team's rebounding effort was strong as well; they pulled down fifty-one rebounds including nine offensive boards that led to twenty-one second-chance points.

One cannot overlook how well New Orleans shared the ball either; dishing out thirty-five assists which is indicative of their cohesive playmaking abilities. Their assist-to-turnover ratio stood impressively high at approximately two point seven times more assists than turnovers.


On Houston's side despite being outplayed, there were some notable performances including scoring fifty-two bench points and maintaining seventy-five percent efficiency on fast breaks resulting in twenty-two fast break points. However, it wasn't enough to counteract New Orleans' relentless pressure or overcome their own turnover issues which amounted to twenty-four lost possessions leading directly to thirteen opponent points.
