Pelicans' Flight Cut Short by Spurs in Home Court Skirmish

The New Orleans Pelicans, with a 45-32 record, faced off against the San Antonio Spurs, standing at 19-58. In a closely contested match, the final score read 111-109 in favor of the visiting team.

The Pelicans started strong at the Smoothie King Center with an impressive lead that peaked at 15 points. The home team's offense was firing on all cylinders as they amassed 58 points in the paint and maintained a field goal percentage of 51 throughout the game. Their free throw accuracy was impeccable, hitting all 12 attempts which contributed to their overall true shooting percentage of 60.


Despite their efforts, turnovers proved costly for the Pelicans as both teams gave up possession 17 times each. However, New Orleans capitalized slightly better on these opportunities scoring one less point than San Antonio from turnovers. The home team's bench struggled to make an impact with only 14 bench points compared to Spurs' more productive reserves who contributed a significant 36 points.

Defensively, New Orleans managed to steal the ball on eleven occasions but only blocked two shots compared to San Antonio's eight blocks. The Pelicans also gathered more total rebounds than their opponents with a tally of 46 against Spurs' count of forty.


San Antonio showed resilience and strategic execution under pressure which allowed them to overcome their six-point deficit and secure victory. They led for just under nine minutes but made crucial plays when it mattered most. Their three-point shooting was particularly effective; sinking seventeen out of forty-six attempts resulting in a thirty-seven percent success rate from beyond the arc.
