The Smoothie King Center was buzzing as fans witnessed an intense battle where the lead changed hands 19 times and the game was tied on 18 occasions. Despite their best efforts, the Pelicans fell short against their visitors. The home team's scoring was consistent in the first half, putting up 21 points in the opening quarter and adding another 22 before halftime. They ramped up their offense in the third quarter with an impressive 28 points but could only manage to add another 18 in the final period.

The Pelicans showcased some robust defensive plays, accumulating a total of eight blocks and ten steals over four quarters. Their offensive efforts were led by contributions across the board resulting in a total of 22 assists. However, they struggled from beyond the arc, converting only eight out of their attempted thirty-four three-pointers for a modest shooting percentage of twenty-four percent.

On offense inside paint proved more fruitful for them as they made eighteen out of forty-two attempts which accounted for thirty-six percent of their total points scored during this matchup. Bench players also stepped up significantly contributing twenty-four points to their team's effort.

Despite these valiant efforts by New Orleans' squad including fifty personal rebounds leading to sixteen second-chance points thanks largely due to twelve offensive rebounds grabbed throughout this game; it wasn't enough as they turned over possession nineteen times ultimately affecting both efficiency rating (91) and final outcome negatively compared against opponents who posted higher numbers across various statistical categories such as field goal percentage (forty-three percent), fast break opportunities (sixteen points from thirteen attempts), and overall efficiency rating (104).

Looking ahead after this setback at home court advantage will be crucial when these two teams meet again soon – next time on enemy territory at Paycom Center located within Oklahoma City itself where fans can catch all action live via NBA TV or regional sports networks BSOK & BSNO respectively starting at precisely seven-thirty PM local time come May first year twenty-twenty-four.
