New Orleans Pelicans Battle Hard but Fall to Memphis Grizzlies at FedExForum

The New Orleans Pelicans, with a record of 4-16, faced off against the Memphis Grizzlies, who held a 13-7 record, in an intense game that ended with the Pelicans scoring 109 points to the Grizzlies' 120. Despite their efforts and leading for a brief time of 2:46 minutes during the game, the Pelicans could not secure a win. The match showcased both teams' abilities to score and defend, but ultimately, it was the Grizzlies who had the upper hand by maintaining their lead for most of the game.

Key Performances and Game Highlights


The New Orleans Pelicans showed resilience throughout the match. CJ McCollum led his team with an impressive performance of 30 points, demonstrating his scoring ability by shooting 58 percent from the field. Not far behind was Trey Murphy III and Dejounte Murray who both added significantly to the team's total score with 21 points each. Yves Missi stood out on defense for the Pelicans with three blocks while also contributing 16 points and grabbing an impressive total of 14 rebounds.


On offense, New Orleans managed to put up strong numbers in several areas including scoring 52 points in paint and converting fast break opportunities into twelve points. The Memphis Grizzlies capitalized on their home court advantage at FedExForum before an attendance of over seventeen thousand fans. Their balanced attack was led by efficient ball movement resulting in thirty-six assists as a team which contributed greatly to their victory. The Grizzlies were particularly dominant inside, scoring sixty-two points in paint compared to fifty-two by New Orleans.
