New Orleans Pelicans and Houston Rockets: A High-Scoring Affair at Toyota Center

The New Orleans Pelicans faced a challenging game against the Houston Rockets, culminating in a 117-146 defeat. This result moves the Pelicans to a 17-47 record for the season, while the Rockets improve to 39-25. Despite a spirited effort, the Pelicans could not overcome the Rockets' offensive onslaught at Toyota Center.

Pelicans' Performance Highlights


The New Orleans Pelicans showcased resilience and skill throughout the game. Jose Alvarado led with an impressive performance, scoring 17 points and providing seven assists, demonstrating his pivotal role in orchestrating plays for his team. His efficiency on court was notable with a shooting percentage of 44 percent from the field.


Zion Williamson also made significant contributions with 20 points, though his efforts were hampered by turnovers which impacted his overall efficiency rating. Yves Missi's performance stood out as well; he scored 14 points on an exceptional shooting accuracy of 86 percent from two-point range and contributed six rebounds.


Trey Murphy III and CJ McCollum each added 13 points to their team's tally. Murphy III was particularly effective under pressure, securing five rebounds and blocking one shot which contributed to his overall game impact.


Rockets Take Control


On the opposing side, The Houston Rockets demonstrated why they are among the top contenders this season with a robust team performance that saw them leading throughout all quarters of play. Their ability to convert opportunities into points was evident in their fast break points tally of 24 compared to The Pelicans' 18.


The Rockets capitalized on turnovers efficiently, scoring more than The Pelicans off these chances. Their bench depth also proved superior with bench players contributing a total of 58 points to their victory margin.
