New Orleans Pelicans' Fourth Quarter Rally Falls Short Against Chicago Bulls at United Center

First Quarter


The New Orleans Pelicans faced off against the Chicago Bulls at the United Center, with both teams eager to secure a win. The Pelicans entered the game with a record of 8-27, while the Bulls stood at 16-17. The first quarter saw the Bulls take an early lead, scoring 36 points compared to the Pelicans' 32. Despite Zion Williamson's efforts, contributing significantly in points and rebounds, Chi managed to maintain their advantage.

Second Quarter


In the second quarter, both teams continued their offensive push. The Pels added another 30 points to their tally but were unable to close the gap as Chi scored 31 points. Trey Murphy III showcased his skills by adding crucial assists and rebounds for New Orleans. However, Chicago's defense remained strong with effective blocks and steals that kept them ahead.


Third Quarter


As play resumed after halftime, New Orleans attempted to shift momentum in their favor by tightening up defensively and increasing pressure on offense. They scored another 28 points during this period; however, it was not enough as Chi responded with a solid performance of their own by putting up 30 more points on board thanks largely due contributions from key players like Nikola Vučević who dominated inside paint area throughout match-up.


Fourth Quarter


Entering into final stretch trailing behind slightly yet still within reach possibility victory seemed plausible if only they could muster one last surge energy effort needed overcome deficit before time expired unfortunately despite valiant attempt rally late-game comeback ultimately fell short resulting final scoreline reading: Bulls -134 vs Pelicans -118 thus marking another loss column for visitors now standing record-wise at disappointing mark (8-28).
