Pelicans' Early Surge Falls Short Against Hornets in Charlotte Showdown

The New Orleans Pelicans faced off against the Charlotte Hornets at Spectrum Center, resulting in a 102-95 outcome favoring the home team. The Pelicans now hold a record of 13-39, while the Hornets improved to 23-28.

First Quarter


The game began with a strong showing from the Pelicans, who took an early lead by scoring 30 points compared to the Hornets' 23. Trey Murphy III was instrumental during this period, contributing significantly to his team's offensive efforts. His shooting accuracy helped establish an early advantage for New Orleans.


Second Quarter


Continuing their momentum into the second quarter, the Pels added another 34 points to their tally. Zion Williamson showcased his versatility with both scoring and playmaking abilities, adding crucial points and assists that kept New Orleans ahead. However, Charlotte managed to stay within reach by scoring 26 points of their own.


Third Quarter


As play resumed after halftime, the tide began to turn in favor of Buzz City. The Hornets outscored New Orleans by putting up 29 points against just 18 from their opponents in this quarter alone. Despite Derik Queen's commendable performance on defense with blocks and steals for New Orleans, Charlotte's offense found its rhythm.


Fourth Quarter


In what became a decisive final quarter showdown between these two teams vying for victory at Spectrum Center - it was ultimately Buzz City who prevailed over visiting Pels thanks largely due not only solid defensive plays but also effective ball movement leading them towards securing win number twenty-three (23) overall thus far into season campaign so far!
