Did the Pelicans' Paint Domination Outshine the Warriors' Perimeter Prowess?

First Quarter


The New Orleans Pelicans started strong against the Golden State Warriors, taking an early lead with a 31-19 advantage. The Pels showcased their dominance in the paint, scoring 64 points inside throughout the game. Zion Williamson was instrumental in this effort, contributing significantly to their offensive push.

Second Quarter


The second quarter saw a shift as both teams struggled offensively. The Pelicans managed only 15 points while allowing 20 from the Dubs. Despite this dip, New Orleans maintained a narrow lead going into halftime, thanks to their defensive efforts led by Herbert Jones who recorded five steals.


Third Quarter


In the third quarter, both teams found their rhythm again. The Pelicans scored another 31 points with contributions from Bryce McGowens and Saddiq Bey off the bench. Meanwhile, Golden State's Stephen Curry began heating up from beyond the arc but was met with resistance as DeAndre Jordan and Karlo Matković combined for four blocks.


Fourth Quarter


The final quarter was a thrilling display of back-and-forth action. The Warriors attempted to close in on New Orleans’ lead by scoring 37 points; however, it wasn't enough to overcome their deficit as they fell short at Smoothie King Center with a final score of 113-109 favoring New Orleans.


Despite Golden State's late surge led by Klay Thompson’s three-point shooting prowess and Draymond Green’s playmaking abilities resulting in eight assists overall for him during game-changing plays New Orleans Pelicans vs Golden State Warriors matchup - it ultimately wasn’t enough against an inspired home team performance that saw them improve their record to 17-42 while dropping GSW down slightly now standing at records reflecting thirty wins versus twenty-eight losses respectively after tonight’s encounter concluded here today!
