The Thunder started strong in their home venue, Paycom Center, leading by as much as seven points during the game. However, despite their efforts and maintaining control for over 19 minutes of playtime, they couldn't sustain their momentum against the persistent Timberwolves. The home team's efficiency on court was evident with an overall rating of 111 compared to their opponents' 115.

Oklahoma City showcased resilience through impressive defensive plays totaling seven blocks and five steals. Their offensive efforts were equally distributed with both bench players contributing significantly to the scoreboard tallying up to 25 points. The team also capitalized on turnovers scoring 14 points off them while drawing more fouls than Minnesota at 19.

The Thunder's shooting accuracy from beyond the arc stood at forty percent as they made fourteen three-pointers out of thirty-five attempts. They also demonstrated proficiency in second-chance opportunities by converting four out of six attempts into eleven additional points for the team.

Despite these commendable performances from Oklahoma City players and an eleven-point unanswered run which briefly gave them an edge over Minnesota, it wasn't enough to secure victory. The Timberwolves managed to take advantage of fast-break situations scoring seven points and dominated inside the paint with forty-six points.
