Defensively, Oklahoma City managed to block three shots and steal five times from their opponents. They dominated both ends of the court by out-rebounding New Orleans with a total rebound count of forty-nine to forty-three. This included seven offensive boards that helped them maintain possession and control over the game flow.

The bench played its part too by adding twenty-two points to support their teammates on court. With twelve unanswered points being their largest run without response from New Orleans during playtime, it was clear that Oklahoma City had periods where they were unstoppable.
