Oklahoma City Thunder ride Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and a fourth-quarter surge past the Denver Nuggets

The Oklahoma City Thunder moved to 51-15 with a 129-126 result over the Denver Nuggets, who left at 39-26, at Paycom Center on 7:30 PM EDT.

First quarter


The Oklahoma City Thunder opened with 37 points while the Nuggets hit 40 points, and the game logged 13 ties and 17 lead changes.


The Thunder established early rim pressure with 48 points in the paint for the night, while Denver finished with 54 in the paint.


Second quarter


The Thunder swung the second quarter 29-20 behind efficient shooting that ended at 61 percent effective field goal rate.


OKC also finished with 19 made 3-pointers on 40 percent from deep, and Denver matched 40 percent with 15 made 3-pointers.


Third quarter


The Thunder posted 30 points in the third quarter against Denver’s 33, and OKC finished with 3 total turnovers for a 9.0 assist-to-turnover ratio.
