The Washington Wizards displayed resilience and strategic play throughout the game. Despite trailing for most of the match, they managed to turn things around in the fourth quarter. The home team's defense was particularly noteworthy, as they racked up a total of 12 blocks compared to nine by their opponents. This defensive effort contributed significantly to their success on court.

Offensively, both teams struggled with field goal percentages below 40 percent; however, it was free throw accuracy that set them apart. The Wizards excelled at free throws with an impressive 85 percent completion rate, making 23 out of 27 attempts. This sharpshooting from the line proved crucial in their six-point victory over the Hornets.

The bench played a pivotal role for Washington as well, contributing a substantial 49 points to their total score. In contrast, Charlotte's bench added only 38 points. Additionally, Washington capitalized on turnovers more effectively than Charlotte did; scoring 21 points off turnovers while limiting Charlotte to just eleven.

Rebounding was another area where Washington had an edge over Charlotte – pulling down ten offensive rebounds and securing forty-eight personal rebounds overall compared to sixteen and sixty-six respectively for Charlotte.

One cannot overlook individual performances either; especially those who contributed significantly towards this win for Washington – including players who made critical plays during key moments of this encounter between these two Eastern Conference rivals.

As fans look ahead after this hard-fought victory by their beloved team – they can mark their calendars for when Washington takes on New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on October 18th at approximately six thirty PM Eastern Time. Fans eager not miss any action can tune into MSG or MNMT2 channels where this upcoming game will be broadcasted live from one basketball's most iconic venues.
