In an intense matchup that saw the lead change hands 26 times and the score tied on 15 occasions, it was ultimately the Wizards who emerged victorious. The game was characterized by its competitive nature and neither team could establish dominance for long periods, as evidenced by the narrow time leading margins; Washington led for just over ten minutes while Toronto was ahead for roughly half an hour.

The Wizards' performance was bolstered by their superior shooting accuracy. They outperformed the Raptors with a field goal percentage of 48 percent compared to Toronto's 43 percent and were particularly effective from inside the paint where they shot at an impressive rate of 59 percent. Despite struggling from beyond the arc with only a 31 percent success rate on three-point attempts, Washington managed to sink crucial baskets when it mattered most.

Defensively, both teams were evenly matched with Washington registering eight blocks to Toronto's seven and seven steals to their nine. However, it was in rebounding where the Wizards truly shone; they dominated both defensive (39) and offensive (16) boards totaling an impressive count of 63 rebounds against Toronto's total of 50.

Contributions came from all quarters for Washington but their bench made significant contributions scoring a collective total of twenty-three points. Moreover, they capitalized on turnovers more effectively than their opponents did – scoring seventeen points off turnovers compared to fifteen by Toronto.
