Clemson Tigers Dominate at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Against Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Season Opener

The Clemson Tigers, with an 11-3 record, faced off against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, who held a 5-7 record, in a game that ended with a decisive score of 41-10.

At Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the Clemson Tigers showcased their offensive and defensive capabilities against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The Tigers' offense accumulated a total of 378 yards with an average gain of 4.8 yards per play. The passing game was particularly effective; quarterback play resulted in two touchdowns and a completion rate of about 61 percent for a total of 259 yards. The rushing attack added another three touchdowns to the scoreboard on top of their 119 rushing yards.


Special teams also contributed to the victory; Clemson's kicker was perfect on the day, successfully making both field goal attempts with his longest being from 32 yards out and converting all five extra point kicks. Punt returns were productive as well, totaling 48 return yards over five attempts.

Defensively, the Tigers were just as impressive by recording two sacks for a loss of thirteen yards and six tackles for loss totaling nineteen negative yardage against Georgia Tech. They forced two fumbles during the game although none were recovered by either team. Additionally, Clemson's defense intercepted one pass without allowing any return yardage.


The efficiency on third down conversions was notable at approximately 44 percent success rate while maintaining perfection in both red zone (100 percent) and fourth down (100 percent) situations.

Georgia Tech's efforts were overshadowed by Clemson’s performance but they managed to put up ten points including seven in the third quarter which was their most productive period during this contest.


Looking ahead after this convincing win at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, fans can anticipate watching their next game when Memorial Stadium becomes host to an encounter between Clemson Tigers and Furman Paladins on September 10th at around half past seven PM local time.
