The game at Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium saw the Colorado State Rams demonstrate their offensive capabilities through both rushing and receiving. The team accumulated a total of 320 yards over the course of the game. On the ground, they rushed for 95 yards with an average of about four yards per carry and scored two touchdowns. Their longest rush was an impressive 22-yard run which resulted in one of their touchdowns.

Through the air, despite three interceptions thrown by Colorado State quarterbacks, they managed to gain 225 passing yards from 57 attempts. However, no passing touchdowns were recorded for the Rams this time around. The defense made its presence felt by sacking Utah State's quarterback six times for a loss of 38 yards and recording two interceptions.
