Second Quarter

In the second quarter, FAU began to find their rhythm. Caden Veltkamp led a strong offensive push for the Owls, completing 42 of his 55 passes and throwing for 494 yards in total. His efforts helped narrow the gap as FAU scored two touchdowns to UConn's single field goal, bringing some hope back to their fans.

Third Quarter

The third quarter was more balanced as both teams exchanged blows. Dominique Henry made a significant impact with his receiving skills, catching seven passes for 157 yards and scoring one touchdown. Meanwhile, Gemari Sands contributed on the ground with 44 rushing yards but couldn't find his way into the end zone.

Fourth Quarter

As time wound down in the fourth quarter, FAU mounted a spirited comeback attempt. Easton Messer added another dimension to their attack with his receiving prowess—11 receptions totaling 119 yards and one touchdown—but it wasn't enough to overcome UConn's lead. Despite outscoring UConn in this period by tying them at two touchdowns each, FAU fell short by three points.

The game concluded with a score of 48-45 in favor of UConn Huskies who improved their record to 9-3 while Florida Atlantic dropped to 4-7 after this hard-fought battle.

Looking ahead, fans can catch Florida Atlantic Owls next when they host East Carolina Pirates at Flagler Credit Union Stadium on November 29th at 1:00 PM EDT. Be sure not to miss it!
