Defensively, while not recording any sacks against FIU's offense, Jacksonville State managed to force one fumble thanks to linebacker Jibreel Al-Amin's efforts which turned into crucial turnovers contributing significantly towards their win. Safety Zechariah Poyser stood out by recovering said fumble alongside making ten combined tackles and contributing one tackle for loss.
