First Quarter

The opening quarter saw both teams finding their rhythm, each scoring 7 points. The Cards' defense was tested early on but managed to hold their ground against Cal's offensive plays. Keyjuan Brown made significant contributions with his rushing attempts, gaining crucial first downs for Louisville.

Second Quarter

In the second quarter, Cal took advantage of some defensive lapses by Louisville, adding 10 points compared to Louisville's 6. Despite this setback, Miller Moss showed resilience as he led several drives downfield, although they were unable to convert these into touchdowns.

Third Quarter

Louisville came back strong in the third quarter with an impressive defensive display that limited Cal to just one touchdown while they added another touchdown themselves. AJ Green and Wesley Bailey were instrumental in applying pressure on Cal’s quarterback, each recording a sack and contributing significantly to disrupting Cal's offensive flow.

Fourth Quarter

The fourth quarter was marked by strategic plays from both sides but saw only field goals being scored; Cooper Ranvier successfully converted his attempts for Louisville. However, despite their efforts and tactical adjustments during this period, including forcing three-and-outs four times throughout the game, it wasn't enough for them to overcome Cal’s lead.

Overtime

In overtime play that ultimately decided the outcome of this intense matchup between two competitive teams; it was California who managed an additional score sealing their win over Louisville by three points difference - finalizing what had been an evenly matched contest until then.
