First Quarter

The opening quarter saw both teams testing each other's defenses. The Cards managed to put up an early field goal thanks to Cooper Ranvier's precision kicking from 29 yards out, but it was the Ponies who took control with a touchdown drive that set the tone for their offensive prowess.

Second Quarter

In the second quarter, Deuce Adams led Louisville's offense with determination but found limited success against SMU's formidable defense. Despite his efforts and completing 12 of his passes for 94 yards, Adams couldn't find the end zone. The Cards added another field goal by Ranvier from 36 yards out, yet it was overshadowed by two touchdowns from SMU that widened their lead significantly.

Third Quarter

As play resumed after halftime, AJ Green stood out defensively for Louisville with one sack and a tackle for loss among his four tackles total. However, despite these defensive highlights and forcing three-and-outs on occasion, the Cards struggled offensively and were unable to score any points in this period while allowing another field goal by SMU.

Fourth Quarter

The final quarter saw no respite for Louisville as they failed to break through SMU’s defense again. Meanwhile, two more touchdowns by SMU sealed their commanding victory over Louisville.
