First Quarter

Both teams started cautiously, with neither side managing to score. The defenses were on full display as they effectively contained each other's offensive efforts. Michigan's defense forced four three-and-outs during this period, showcasing their ability to disrupt Northwestern's rhythm early on.

Second Quarter

The second quarter saw the first points of the game when Bryce Underwood led a drive that resulted in a rushing touchdown by Jordan Marshall. This was followed by a successful extra point from Dominic Zvada. However, Northwestern responded with two field goals of their own, keeping them within striking distance as they trailed 7-6 going into halftime.

Third Quarter

Michigan came out strong after halftime with Marshall again finding success on the ground for another touchdown run. Underwood also contributed with his legs, scoring a rushing touchdown himself and extending Michigan's lead significantly. Despite this surge from the Maize and Blue offense, Northwestern managed a field goal to keep themselves in contention.

Fourth Quarter

In an intense final quarter, Northwestern mounted a comeback attempt by scoring two touchdowns but failed to convert one of their extra-point attempts which proved costly. Meanwhile, Zvada added another field goal for Michigan which ultimately secured their victory despite late pressure from 'Cats.

Jordan Marshall was instrumental for Michigan throughout this matchup; his performance included 142 rushing yards and two touchdowns that played pivotal roles in maintaining momentum for his team against persistent opposition from Wildcats’ defense.
