Missouri Tigers Dominate at Faurot Field in Football Showdown Against Southeast Missouri State Redhawks

The Missouri Tigers, with a 6-7 record, hosted the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks (4-7) in a game that ended with the home team securing a decisive 59-28 victory. The Tigers' offense was on full display as they amassed an impressive total of 675 yards.

The Tigers' passing game was particularly effective, with the quarterback throwing for 444 yards and five touchdowns. The longest pass completion was an impressive 65 yards, which also resulted in a touchdown. The passing efficiency was highlighted by a completion percentage of approximately 74 percent and an average of over 11 yards per attempt. Notably, the quarterback maintained a clean sheet without any interceptions or sacks.


On the ground, the Tigers were equally dominant, rushing for 231 yards and three touchdowns. A highlight reel-worthy moment came from their longest rush touchdown of 55 yards. Their average rush yardage stood at nearly seven per attempt.


Special teams contributed to the scoring frenzy as well; they successfully completed one field goal from within the range of forty-nine yards and converted all eight extra point attempts following touchdowns.


Defensively, Missouri held strong throughout most of the game but allowed twenty-one points in the fourth quarter to give some consolation to Southeast Missouri State. However, they did manage to sack Southeast Missouri State's quarterback once and recorded one interception during the game.


Penalties were relatively low for both teams; however, it is worth noting that there were five penalties against Missouri totaling fifty-five penalty yards.
