Missouri Tigers Overcome Vanderbilt Commodores at FirstBank Stadium in Football Showdown

The Missouri Tigers now stand at 6-7 after a hard-fought victory against the Vanderbilt Commodores, who are left with a 2-10 record. The final scoreline read 37-28 in favor of the visiting team.

In an impressive offensive display at Nashville's FirstBank Stadium, the Missouri Tigers secured a win over the Vanderbilt Commodores. The Tigers' offense amassed a total of 502 yards, with their rushing attack contributing significantly to this tally by gaining 284 yards on the ground. The longest rush was an impressive 73-yard dash, and overall, they averaged over six yards per carry. This dynamic running game resulted in three touchdowns.


The passing game was also efficient for the Missouri side as they completed nearly seventy-nine percent of their passes for a total of 218 yards through the air. Their precision passing led to one touchdown from a long completion that spanned 45 yards.


Special teams played their part too; field goal kickers were perfect on the day with three successful attempts out of three, including one from beyond fifty yards which was also their longest field goal made during this game.


Defensively, Missouri showed tenacity by recording three sacks and seven tackles for loss while limiting Vanderbilt's scoring opportunities. They also managed to block one special teams play which contributed to keeping momentum on their side.


Despite nine penalties amounting to one hundred penalty yards against them, it did not deter them from maintaining control throughout most of the game as evidenced by their time of possession which exceeded thirty-three minutes.


On special teams front aside from field goals success, kickoffs were particularly effective as six out of seven resulted in touchbacks thus limiting return opportunities for Vanderbilt.
