In front of an enthusiastic crowd of 53,656 at Ross-Ade Stadium, the Boilermakers showcased their offensive capabilities by amassing a total of 401 yards. The passing game was particularly effective, with the quarterback throwing for 313 yards and achieving an impressive completion rate of approximately 69 percent. Two passing touchdowns were recorded, including one remarkable play that resulted in a longest touchdown pass of 50 yards.

The ground game added to the offensive mix with an additional 88 rushing yards and one touchdown. Despite being limited to an average gain per rush play of under three yards, the Boilermakers managed seven first downs on the ground and capitalized on red zone opportunities with a conversion rate of about 75 percent.

Special teams also contributed to Purdue's victory; field goal kickers were perfect on the day, successfully converting all three attempts including one from just shy of half-century mark. The kicking unit demonstrated strong control over field position as well, recording four touchbacks out of seven kickoffs.

Defensively, Purdue held firm throughout most parts of the game. They registered one sack and intercepted one pass which was returned for nine yards. This interception played into limiting Oregon State's scoring opportunities and maintaining control over the tempo.

The Beavers did not go down without showing some resilience though; they rallied in the fourth quarter adding two touchdowns to their tally but ultimately fell short against Purdue's sustained efforts across both halves.

Fans can look forward to seeing if Purdue can continue their winning ways when they face off against Connecticut Huskies at Pratt and Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field on September 11th at around noon local time. This upcoming contest will be broadcasted live on CBS Sports Network via satellite channel number two hundred twenty-one for those who wish to follow along from home or elsewhere.
