Purdue Boilermakers Clinch Victory at Ross-Ade Stadium in Football Showdown Against Indiana Hoosiers

In a closely contested game at Ross-Ade Stadium, the Purdue Boilermakers emerged victorious with a final score of 35-31 over the Indiana Hoosiers. The Boilermakers improved their season record to 4-8, while the Hoosiers fell to 3-9.

The home crowd of nearly 60,000 fans witnessed an impressive offensive display by the Purdue Boilermakers. The team's passing game was particularly effective, with a completion percentage of approximately 62 percent resulting in three touchdowns and a total of 275 yards through the air. The longest pass completed stretched for 44 yards and one touchdown pass was notable for covering 38 yards. On the ground, Purdue managed to add another touchdown and accumulate a total of 178 rushing yards from their efforts.


Defensively, Purdue also made significant contributions with three interceptions that they returned for a combined total of 32 yards. Their defensive line managed to sack Indiana's quarterback twice for a loss of eighteen yards and recorded five tackles for loss totaling twenty-four negative yardage against their opponents.


Special teams played their role efficiently as well; Purdue's field goal unit successfully converted three out of four attempts with the longest being from forty-four yards out. In addition, kick returners provided good field position on several occasions by returning kicks for an average over twenty-seven yards per return.


The fourth quarter proved decisive as Purdue scored seventeen points compared to only three by Indiana. This surge included both offensive prowess and defensive stops that prevented Indiana from reclaiming control late in the game.
