First Quarter

The opening quarter saw both teams testing each other's defenses. The Trojans managed to put up an early lead with a field goal, while Purdue's offense struggled to find its rhythm. Despite efforts from Ryan Browne, who completed several passes for significant yardage throughout the game, the first quarter ended without points for Purdue.

Second Quarter

In the second quarter, USC extended their lead with two touchdowns. The Boilers responded with Spencer Porath's successful field goal attempt from 39 yards out. Defensive plays by Charles Correa and Myles Slusher were notable as they combined for numerous tackles and attempted to halt USC's advances.

Third Quarter

The third quarter was marked by increased offensive activity from both sides. Ryan Browne connected with Nitro Tuggle for Purdue’s first touchdown of the game on a nine-yard pass play. However, turnovers plagued Purdue’s efforts as Browne threw three interceptions during critical moments of play.

Fourth Quarter

Purdue showed resilience in the final quarter with Devin Mockobee rushing into the end zone after breaking through USC's defensive line on his longest run of 26 yards. Despite this effort and strong defensive plays including Demeco Kennedy’s sack that resulted in nine lost yards for USC, it was not enough to close the gap created earlier in the match.

As fans look forward to future games, they can catch Purdue Boilermakers taking on Notre Dame Fighting Irish next Saturday at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend at 3:30 PM EDT on NBC.
