The South Carolina Gamecocks entered the game with determination, but despite their efforts, they were unable to secure a victory against the Texas A&M Aggies. The Gamecocks' offense managed to accumulate a total of 209 yards throughout the game. Their passing game contributed 176 yards with an average of nearly five yards per attempt and included one touchdown pass that covered two yards. On the ground, however, they struggled to gain traction against a stout Aggies defense, rushing for only 33 yards on 28 attempts.

The South Carolina defense applied pressure on their opponents by recording three sacks and seven tackles for loss while hitting the quarterback three times. They also forced one fumble during play but could not capitalize on turnovers as no interceptions were made by either team.
