Special teams played their part as well; one punt return went all the way back for a touchdown after covering 32 yards – adding to an already commanding performance by South Carolina.


Defensively, South Carolina held strong against Vanderbilt's attempts to gain momentum. They recorded one sack and recovered two fumbles during critical moments in the game which helped maintain control throughout all four quarters.

The crowd of over 75,000 at Williams-Brice Stadium witnessed their team execute effectively on third downs half of the time they faced them and succeed in both attempts when they were goal-to-go situations.
