The Temple Owls emerged victorious with a 27-17 scoreline against the South Florida Bulls at Lincoln Financial Field. The Owls now stand with an improved record, while the Bulls face a setback.

South Florida Bulls VS Temple Owls

The game saw the Temple Owls take control in the second half after trailing by 17 points through the first two quarters. The home team's resilience was on full display as they put up 10 points in the third quarter and an impressive 17 points in the fourth, completely shutting out their opponents in both periods. The turning point for the Owls came from their special teams unit, which contributed significantly to their comeback with a punt return touchdown that covered an impressive distance of 73 yards.

Offensively, Temple's passing game accumulated 264 yards through air travel without conceding any sacks. Their quarterback maintained a commendable passer rating of approximately 115 and completed over half of his pass attempts, contributing to fifteen first downs. Although no touchdowns were thrown, efficiency within scoring range was evident as they converted three out of four red zone opportunities into scores.

On defense, Temple showcased its ability to disrupt plays behind the line of scrimmage with two sacks totaling twelve lost yards for South Florida and also forced turnovers that included two interceptions and one fumble recovery returned for a touchdown. These defensive efforts were crucial in halting South Florida's momentum and aiding in their own scoring drives.

Temple's ground game struggled to gain traction but managed one rushing touchdown despite averaging less than two yards per carry across forty attempts. In terms of discipline on both sides of the ball, penalties remained under control with only seven infractions costing them sixty-one yards throughout the game.

Special mention must be made regarding field goal kicking where two out of three attempts sailed through uprights successfully from within thirty-nine yards; however one attempt did not find its mark.

Looking ahead after this hard-fought victory at home, fans can anticipate seeing their team back on action when they face off against Connecticut Huskies at Pratt and Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field located in East Hartford on November 24th scheduled for kickoff around 8:30 PM local time. This upcoming contest will be broadcasted live on ESPNU satellite channel number 208 for those looking to follow along remotely as Temple aims to continue building upon this win.
