In a hard-fought contest, the Tennessee Volunteers displayed resilience against the Pittsburgh Panthers. Despite falling short on the scoreboard, their offense amassed 374 total yards. The passing game contributed significantly to this effort as quarterback play resulted in a completion percentage of 67 percent for 238 yards and two touchdowns, including a notable longest pass of 44 yards which also resulted in their longest touchdown.

The ground game was equally dynamic for Tennessee; they rushed for 136 yards over 33 attempts with an average of over four yards per carry. Their rushing efforts were highlighted by a breakaway run that culminated in a touchdown from just two yards out. However, it was not all smooth sailing as they lost two fumbles during the course of play.

Special teams had moments of success as well; field goal kickers were perfect on the day making both attempts with their longest being from 48 yards out. Kickoff units managed to keep seven kicks within bounds while achieving one touchback.

Penalties proved costly for Tennessee as they accumulated thirteen penalties amounting to an imposing total of 134 penalty yards which impacted their overall game performance.

On defense, Tennessee managed to sack Pittsburgh's quarterback twice and recorded seven tackles for loss among their defensive highlights. They also blocked one special teams play but failed to secure any interceptions or force any fumbles throughout the contest.

The opposing team's performance was noteworthy too; Pittsburgh utilized its timeouts effectively and challenged plays when necessary while maintaining discipline with fewer penalties than Tennessee.

Looking ahead, fans can anticipate another opportunity to support their team when Tennessee hosts the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles at Neyland Stadium on September 18th at noon local time (4 PM GMT). This upcoming game will be broadcasted on SEC Network+, providing fans another chance to cheer on their beloved Volunteers from home or stands alike.
