At Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, the Tennessee Volunteers showcased their offensive might by accumulating a total of 475 yards. The ground game was particularly effective for the Volunteers as they rushed for an impressive 331 yards across 64 attempts. This dominant rushing performance was highlighted by four touchdowns and contributed to their average gain of over five yards per play. The passing game also added to their offensive tally with one touchdown and a total of 144 passing yards.

The Volunteer's defense was equally up to task, recording two sacks and eight tackles for loss which pushed back the Falcon's offense by a combined total of 40 yards. Special teams played their part too; punting duties were handled efficiently with three attempts totaling 147 yards and ensuring two punts landed inside the opponent's twenty-yard line.

Bowling Green Falcons struggled to find rhythm throughout the contest. Their offense managed only six points against a stout Volunteer defense that did not concede any touchdowns during any quarter. Moreover, despite using two timeouts and one challenge, they could not overturn the tide set by Tennessee.

Kicking duties were precise for Tennessee as well; they successfully converted all five extra-point attempts following touchdowns and made good on their lone field goal attempt from forty-three yards out.
