Tennessee Volunteers Dominate UTEP Miners with a Resounding Victory at Neyland

In a display of sheer dominance, the Tennessee Volunteers secured a commanding 56-0 victory over the UTEP Miners at Neyland Stadium. This win improves the Volunteers' season record to 9-2, while the Miners fall to 2-9. The game was witnessed by an impressive crowd of 101,915 fans who saw their team leave no stone unturned in securing this win.

Volunteers' Offensive Onslaught


The Tennessee offense was on fire, amassing a total of 460 yards. Quarterback Nico Iamaleava led the charge with an exceptional performance, throwing for 209 yards and four touchdowns with a completion rate of 74 percent and an average of over nine yards per attempt. His connection with wide receiver Bru McCoy was particularly lethal; McCoy caught four passes for 37 yards and two touchdowns.


On the ground, the Volunteers were equally effective, racking up 241 rushing yards. Running back Dylan Sampson contributed significantly with his speed and agility, rushing for 77 yards on eleven attempts and scoring one touchdown. Peyton Lewis also made notable contributions in the red zone, adding two rushing touchdowns to his name.


Defensive Dominance


The Tennessee defense was impenetrable, recording four sacks and twelve tackles for loss while holding UTEP scoreless throughout the game. James Pearce Jr., showcased his defensive prowess by contributing two sacks himself and applying constant pressure on UTEP's quarterbacks.


Special teams played their part as well; punter Jackson Ross had six punts totaling 281 yards, ensuring that UTEP often started from unfavorable field positions. The defense also forced two interceptions but didn't manage to return any for additional scores.
