Did UTSA Roadrunners' Defense Outshine Tulane Green Wave's Offense?

The University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners improved their record to 4-4 with a decisive 48-26 victory over the Tulane Green Wave, who now stand at 6-2. The game took place at the Alamodome in San Antonio, where an attendance of 16,715 witnessed a commanding performance by the home team.

First Quarter


The first quarter set the tone for what would be a dominant display by UTSA. The Runners managed to secure an early lead with a score of 10-6. Owen McCown was instrumental in this period, completing several key passes that kept the chains moving and allowed UTSA to establish control early on.


Second Quarter


In the second quarter, UTSA's offense exploded for 21 points while holding Tulane to just six. McCown continued his impressive form by throwing multiple touchdown passes. David Amador II was one of his favorite targets, contributing significantly with two touchdowns and ten receptions totaling 113 yards.


Third Quarter


The third quarter saw both teams adding seven points each to their tally. However, it was UTSA's defense that shone brightly during this period. Ahamad Chapman made a crucial interception that halted Tulane’s momentum and gave possession back to the Runners.


Fourth Quarter


In the final quarter, UTSA sealed their victory by outscoring Tulane once again with ten points compared to seven from their opponents. The defense continued its stellar performance as Tyan Milton added another interception to his name while Shad Banks Jr.'s sack further disrupted Tulane’s offensive efforts.
