Wake Forest Demon Deacons Narrowly Outscored at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium in Football Showdown

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons showcased their offensive capabilities throughout the game, accumulating a total of 453 yards. The passing game was particularly effective, with the team achieving 347 yards through the air and scoring three touchdowns. The quarterback's performance was notable with an impressive passer rating of 150 and completing over 61 percent of his passes. On the ground, Wake Forest managed to gain 106 rushing yards and secured one touchdown from these efforts.


Special teams also contributed to Wake Forest's performance; their kicker successfully made all attempted kicks including one field goal from within the range of thirty-nine yards and four extra points. Despite not scoring on returns, they did manage to accumulate some yardage on kick returns with twenty-two yards being their longest return.


Defensively, Wake Forest managed to sack Duke's quarterback once for seven yards lost and recorded one interception during the game. However, they were disciplined throughout as evidenced by only three penalties for twenty-four yards against them.


The Duke Blue Devils put up a strong fight as well. Their offense matched up well against Wake Forest's defense by putting up thirty-four points on the scoreboard. They were able to maintain possession for over half of the game time which played a crucial role in their victory.
