Cougars Dominate Buffaloes at Gesa Field in Week 12 Football Showdown

At Gesa Field in Pullman, the home crowd witnessed the Washington State Cougars put on an offensive clinic against their opponents. The Cougars amassed a total of 469 yards with balanced contributions from both passing and rushing attacks. The passing game was particularly effective as they accumulated 342 yards through the air. Quarterback play was sharp; completing 20 passes on 33 attempts for two touchdowns and achieving an impressive passer rating of approximately 168.


The rushing offense added to the onslaught by contributing three touchdowns and gaining over four yards per carry on average. Their longest rush did not exceed fifteen yards but consistency paid off as they punched in six red zone attempts.

Special teams also played a pivotal role for the Cougars with one kick return going for an astounding ninety-eight-yard touchdown. This contributed to one of their eight total touchdowns scored during this dominant performance.


Defensively, Washington State proved to be just as formidable. They recorded five sacks and seven tackles for loss while limiting Colorado's offense significantly throughout each quarter except for the last where Colorado managed seven points against reserves. The defensive unit also forced three fumbles recovering two which were returned for touchdowns adding to their commanding lead.

Penalties were minimal with only six infractions costing them fifty-one yards which did not significantly impact their control over the game's flow or outcome.
