The Washington State Cougars, with a season record of 7-6, faced a challenging game against the Fresno State Bulldogs, who held a stronger record of 10-4. The encounter at SoFi Stadium ended with the home team securing a decisive victory over the Cougars with a final score of 29-6.

The Washington State Cougars entered the game with determination but struggled to find their rhythm against a formidable Bulldogs defense. Despite their efforts, the Cougars managed to accumulate only 182 total yards throughout the game. The passing attack was led by an efficient completion rate of nearly 69 percent for 137 yards; however, it failed to translate into touchdowns. On the ground, they were limited to just 45 rushing yards and one touchdown on 28 attempts.

The defense for Washington State showed moments of resistance as they recorded four sacks and six tackles for loss while holding back the Bulldogs' offense on several occasions. They also defended four passes effectively during critical plays. However, these efforts were overshadowed by an interception thrown by their offense and seven penalties amounting to 52 penalty yards which hindered their progress.

Special teams had mixed results; while no punts were blocked or returned for touchdowns, they did manage three punts inside the twenty-yard line out of five attempts averaging about 48 net yards per punt. Kickoff duties saw all three kicks resulting in touchbacks without giving up any return yardage.

In terms of efficiency within scoring range, Washington State was perfect in both red zone and goal-to-go situations but only had one opportunity each which they converted successfully into points on board – showcasing effectiveness when close to scoring but lacking opportunities overall.

As fans look forward to future games broadcast from SoFi Stadium or elsewhere across America's football landscape, it is clear that there are areas where improvement is needed if Washington State hopes to turn narrow opportunities into more frequent scores and victories.
