The Mountaineers' offense struggled to find its rhythm throughout the game. The team's passing efforts resulted in 140 yards through the air with an average of almost four yards per attempt. However, they were unable to convert these efforts into touchdowns and also suffered five sacks during the game. On the ground, West Virginia managed to rush for 66 yards across 27 attempts which included their only touchdown of the day—a modest one-yard push into the end zone.

Defensively, West Virginia showed some resilience by recording two sacks and six tackles for loss while also forcing one fumble which they recovered. Their defense was able to make an interception as well but unfortunately returned it for -14 yards.

Special teams had a busy day punting seven times for a total of 299 yards; however none resulted in blocked punts or returns for touchdowns. They did manage to place one punt inside the opposing team's twenty-yard line.

On penalties, both teams played relatively disciplined football with West Virginia committing just four penalties totaling twenty yards against them.

For their part, The Golden Gophers capitalized on their opportunities scoring fifteen points in the second quarter alone and adding three more points in third quarter while keeping West Virginia scoreless after halftime.

As fans look ahead after this tough outing at Chase Field, they can tune into future broadcasts featuring The Mountaineers as they continue their journey through next season's games hoping for better outcomes.
