Game Highlights

The Hilltoppers' quarterback, Caden Veltkamp, threw for 302 yards with a completion rate of 64 percent and contributed two touchdowns. Special teams played their part as well; Cole Maynard's punting was consistent, achieving an average net yardage of over forty-one across five attempts. Lucas Carneiro successfully converted a field goal from thirty-one yards out alongside making both extra-point attempts.


Defensive Standouts


Defensively, Keyshawn Swanson stood out by contributing six tackles and achieving one tackle for loss among his nine combined tackles which showcased his defensive prowess throughout the game. Sebastian Benjamin also made waves by adding three tackles to his name along with one tackle for loss that amounted to six negative yards against the Dukes.


Despite these individual performances, turnovers proved costly for Western Kentucky as they lost three fumbles during critical moments which hindered their momentum against James Madison's robust defense.
