Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders Stumble at CFSB Center: Can They Rebound?

The game started with promise for the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders as they put up 31 points in the first half but were outpaced by the Racers who scored 35. In a turn of events during the second half, Middle Tennessee struggled to maintain their offensive momentum, adding only 23 more points to their tally while Murray State surged ahead with an additional 40 points.


Middle Tennessee's performance was marked by some notable statistics despite their loss. They managed to achieve a two-point shooting percentage of 54 percent by making 15 out of 28 attempts. However, they struggled beyond the arc with a three-point shooting percentage sitting at just 21 percent from making only five out of twenty-four attempts. From the free-throw line, they shot at a rate of just over half – specifically rounding to about fifty-three percent – sinking nine out of seventeen shots.


Defensively, Middle Tennessee recorded two blocks and four steals but was overshadowed by Murray State's ten steals which contributed significantly to turnovers and fast break opportunities for them. The Blue Raiders ended up turning over the ball eighteen times compared to just nine from their opponents.


On rebounds, Middle Tennessee gathered thirty-three compared to Murray State's thirty-eight rebounds which included twenty-seven defensive boards for them versus twenty-four for Middle Tennessee and both teams grabbing eight offensive rebounds each.


Despite these efforts from Middle Tennessee players on both ends of the court, it was not enough as Murray State capitalized on eighteen points off turnovers compared to nine by Middle Tennessee and also dominated in fast-break situations scoring thirteen fast-break points against five from Middle Tennessee.


Looking ahead after this tough outing away from home soil, fans can look forward to seeing if their team can bounce back when they host Reinhardt Eagles at Murphy Athletic Center in Murfreesboro on January fourth next year. This upcoming match is scheduled for twelve-thirty AM local time and will be available for viewing on ESPN+ via internet broadcast networks.
