In a closely contested match at the Pan American Center, the New Mexico State Aggies faced off against the Lobos in a non-conference game. The final scoreboard read 73-72, with both teams displaying competitive spirit throughout the encounter. The New Mexico State Aggies now stand with an additional loss to their record, while the Lobos added another win.

New Mexico Lobos VS New Mexico State Aggies

The home team, New Mexico State Aggies, put up a resilient fight but fell short by just one point in a game that saw numerous lead changes and ties. Despite trailing by two points at halftime, they managed to score 42 points in the second half compared to their opponents' 41. However, this was not enough to secure victory.

The Aggies showcased efficient shooting from both inside and beyond the arc. They converted 51 percent of their two-point attempts and an impressive 45 percent from three-point range. Their free throw accuracy stood at 68 percent as they made 13 out of 19 attempts from the line.

On defense, New Mexico State demonstrated tenacity with four blocks and ten steals during the game. However, they were outrebounded by their opponents who grabbed a total of 37 rebounds compared to their own tally of 30.

Offensively for the Lobos, field goal percentage was slightly lower than that of their hosts at around 44 percent for two-pointers and nearly equal proficiency from three-point land at approximately 43 percent. Their free throw performance was less effective though; only making half of their shots from the charity stripe.

The visiting team also capitalized on turnovers scoring fifteen points off them while committing sixteen turnovers themselves which led to twenty points for New Mexico State Aggies. Despite this aspect being evened out between both sides, it was ultimately small margins that decided this nail-biter.

Looking ahead for fans of New Mexico State Aggies is another opportunity as they travel to face Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks at William R. Johnson Coliseum on December 19th at around six thirty PM Central Time Zone (CT). This upcoming game will be available for viewing on ESPN+, providing supporters another chance to follow their team's progress through what promises to be an exciting season ahead.
