In what was an intense matchup at the Pan American Center, the New Mexico State Aggies demonstrated resilience and tactical execution to overcome their opponents, the California Baptist Lancers. The home team's performance was marked by critical plays that swayed momentum in their favor throughout the game.

The Aggies showcased their offensive capabilities by putting up 66 points against the Lancers' defense. Their scoring efforts were bolstered by converting 43 percent of three-point attempts and making 18 baskets from within the paint, contributing to their total of 32 points scored in this area. Despite being slightly outrebounded with 33 rebounds compared to the Lancers' 35, they managed to maintain control of the game's pace.

Defensively, New Mexico State made its presence felt with six steals and two blocks, disrupting California Baptist's flow on several occasions. The team also capitalized on turnovers, scoring ten points off these opportunities which proved crucial in such a tightly contested game.

On offense for California Baptist University (CBU), despite shooting only 31 percent from field goal range and struggling with just a 20 percent success rate from beyond the arc, they managed to keep things close thanks largely to an impressive free throw performance where they hit 80 percent of their shots.

However, it was not enough as CBU's assist-to-turnover ratio stood at just over half (0.55), indicating difficulties in ball handling and passing efficiency against an aggressive Aggie defense that boasted an even assists-to-turnovers ratio (1.0).

As both teams fought hard on court leading to six lead changes and ties each throughout playtime; it was ultimately New Mexico State’s ability to execute under pressure that sealed their victory before an enthusiastic crowd of four thousand two hundred twenty-six spectators who witnessed every nail-biting moment unfold live at Pan American Center.

Looking ahead for fans of New Mexico State Aggies basketball team: mark your calendars for January fourth when they will face off against UTEP Miners right here at home in Las Cruces’ own Pan American Center. This upcoming match is scheduled for seven o'clock PM Mountain Time Zone and will be broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network channel two hundred twenty-one – ensuring supporters won’t miss any action from this anticipated contest.
