New Mexico State Aggies Dominate at Pan American Center Against UTEP Miners
In a display of offensive firepower, the New Mexico State Aggies outscored the UTEP Miners 95-70 in a non-conference game at the Pan American Center. The Aggies' record now stands at an impressive 1-0, while the Miners fall to 0-1.
The Aggies showcased their scoring ability with a remarkable field goal percentage of 58, including an outstanding three-point shooting performance at 50 percent. They also excelled from the free-throw line, making 23 out of 29 attempts for a free throw percentage of approximately 79. The team's offensive efforts were complemented by their dominance on the boards, grabbing a total of 32 rebounds.
Defensively, New Mexico State was just as effective. They tallied nine steals and three blocks over the course of the game. Their defensive pressure caused significant trouble for the Miners, who turned over the ball fifteen times. This tenacity allowed them to score sixteen points off turnovers and maintain control throughout both halves.
The home team's players put up impressive individual numbers as well. The assist-to-turnover ratio stood strong at about one due to their sixteen assists against sixteen turnovers in total playtime.
On the other side of court, despite falling short in overall score and rebounds with only twenty-five collected by UTEP players, they managed to make seventy percent of their free throws (27 made out of thirty-six attempts). Their two-point field goal percentage was also noteworthy at approximately sixty-five percent; however, they struggled beyond the arc with only thirteen percent success rate from three-point range (three made out of twenty-two attempts).
The next game for New Mexico State Aggies is set against their rivals – New Mexico Lobos – scheduled on December third at two AM Mountain Time in Las Cruces' own Pan American Center. Fans eager to support can catch all live action as it unfolds on that day.
