Austin Peay Governors VS New Mexico State Aggies

In a closely contested game at the Leavey Center, the New Mexico State Aggies showcased a competitive spirit but fell short by one point to the Santa Clara Broncos. The first half saw the Aggies leading with 36 points over the Broncos' 33, but they couldn't maintain their lead in the second half, adding only 29 points to their tally compared to the Broncos' equal effort of 33 points.

The Aggies demonstrated solid defensive plays with ten steals and two blocks throughout the game. Their offense was led by three-point shots where they made thirteen out of thirty-three attempts, translating to a three-point shooting percentage of approximately 39 percent. However, struggles were evident in other areas as they shot just about 37 percent from two-point range and had an overall field goal percentage of roughly 38 percent.

Despite these challenges, New Mexico State managed to accumulate several key statistics including eighteen points in paint and sixteen points off turnovers. They also recorded fifteen assists which reflected their collaborative playmaking ability although it was slightly overshadowed by twelve turnovers during play.

On personal efforts, New Mexico State players pulled down thirty-two rebounds themselves along with two team rebounds for an overall count of thirty-four rebounds; however this was still less than Santa Clara's total rebound count which stood at forty-two. Additionally, free throw opportunities were limited for both teams as each made only four free throws on eight attempts resulting in fifty percent accuracy from the line.

Santa Clara's performance was marked by better shooting efficiency inside as they hit over fifty-one percent from two-point range and finished with an overall field goal percentage around forty-three percent. Their fast break execution resulted in seventeen fast break points compared to ten by New Mexico State. The home team also capitalized on seven blocks and seven steals defensively while committing fewer personal fouls than their opponents.

Looking ahead for fans of New Mexico State Aggies is another challenging matchup against Duquesne Dukes at UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse located in Pittsburgh on December 11th scheduled for a tip-off time at approximately nine o'clock PM Eastern Time (ET). This upcoming contest will be available for viewing on ESPN+ via internet broadcast networks.
