New Mexico State Aggies Set to Host Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders at Pan American Center

As the New Mexico State Aggies prepare to host the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders at the Pan American Center, fans can anticipate an exciting clash on the hardwood. The upcoming game is a chance for the Aggies to capitalize on their home court advantage in Las Cruces.

Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders VS New Mexico State Aggies

The Aggies have shown a mixed bag of results in their recent outings. In their last game against Tulsa's Golden Hurricane, they fell short with 59 points compared to Tulsa's 65. Despite leading at halftime, they couldn't maintain their momentum, scoring only 22 points in the second half and struggling from beyond the arc with a mere 15 percent three-point shooting percentage.

However, looking back two games prior against Stephen F. Austin's Lumberjacks, there was an impressive surge in performance during the second half where they scored 50 points but still ended up losing narrowly by three points with a final score of 72-75. Their free throw accuracy was commendable at 75 percent and they showed strength from downtown hitting 40 percent of their threes.

In contrast, when playing on their home turf against New Mexico Lobos earlier this season, the Aggies showcased resilience by nearly matching point-for-point throughout both halves but ultimately lost by one point with a final score of 72-73. They demonstrated efficiency from inside and outside shooting over fifty percent for two-pointers and an impressive forty-five percent for three-point attempts.

The venue has historically been kind to New Mexico State; however, turnovers have been a concern as seen in that same game where they committed twenty-one turnovers which could be detrimental if not addressed before facing Middle Tennessee.

As we approach this matchup on January 21st at Pan American Center – known for its energetic atmosphere – it will be crucial for New Mexico State to tighten up ball security while continuing to leverage strong shooting performances if they are hoping for victory over Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders. Fans can catch all the action live on ESPN+ starting at local time (9:00 PM MT).
