The Arizona State Sun Devils faced a challenging contest against the USC Trojans, concluding with a score of 70-55 in favor of the visitors. The Sun Devils' season record now stands at an unranked position, while the Trojans hold a commendable seventh rank. In this conference game, both teams displayed competitive spirits, but ultimately it was the Trojans who managed to secure the victory.

Arizona State Sun Devils VS USC Trojans

From tip-off at Desert Financial Arena, it was evident that the Arizona State team had their work cut out for them. The first quarter saw them trailing with only 12 points against USC's 18. They managed to slightly close this gap by halftime but still found themselves behind with a cumulative score of 26-39. The third quarter showed some promise for Arizona State as they scored 13 points; however, USC kept up their momentum and added another 16 to their tally.

Arizona State's performance showcased some notable statistics despite the loss. Their three-point shooting was particularly impressive with an accuracy rate of fifty percent compared to USC's twenty-two percent from beyond the arc. However, struggles were evident in two-point attempts where they only converted twenty-nine percent compared to forty-seven percent by USC.

Defensively, both teams were active on court; however, it was clear that blocking was dominated by USC who tallied ten blocks over Arizona State's three. Steals were more evenly matched with six for Arizona State and four for USC.

Rebounding also told a story of two contrasting performances: while Arizona State gathered thirty-four rebounds in total (twenty-six defensive and four offensive), they fell short against USC’s dominant fifty-four rebounds (thirty-seven defensive and fifteen offensive). This disparity played into second-chance opportunities where USC capitalized significantly scoring twenty-one second-chance points whereas Arizona State could not convert any.

In terms of ball handling and teamwork, assists favored the Trojans who recorded thirteen assists over nine from Arizona State; yet turnovers were lower for the home team at six versus ten by their opponents – reflecting a more careful possession game played by Sun Devils.

The final quarter saw an improved effort from Arizona State as they outscored all previous quarters with sixteen points but still fell short as Trojan maintained consistency adding fifteen more points leading them to victory.

As fans look forward after this tough matchup for their beloved Sun Devils, attention turns towards future games hoping for better outcomes. Fans can tune in next time when Arizona State takes on another opponent aiming to bounce back stronger than ever before.
