Can the Fresno State Bulldogs Rebound Against UNLV Lady Rebels?

The Fresno State Bulldogs women's basketball team is gearing up for a pivotal showdown against the UNLV Lady Rebels. After a series of challenging games, the Bulldogs find themselves in need of a strong performance to regain their footing. The question on every fan's mind is whether they can bounce back and showcase their resilience.

Fresno State Bulldogs VS UNLV Rebels

In their last outing on March 6th, the Bulldogs fell short against the New Mexico Lobos with a final score of 58-72. Despite starting strong with 16 points in the first quarter and leading at halftime, they couldn't maintain momentum, scoring only 19 points in the second half. Their shooting percentages were telling; while they shot an acceptable 42 percent from field goals overall, their three-point attempts were concerning at just 30 percent success rate.

Turnovers have also been a thorn in FRES's side; they gave up possession 15 times against UNM which led to them being outscored by five points off turnovers. This was an improvement from their previous game on March 2nd where turnovers cost them nine points in a loss to Wyoming Cowgirls (51-62). However, it’s clear that ball security will be crucial if FRES hopes to come out on top against UNLV.

Defensively, there are positives for FRES to build upon. They managed two blocks and three steals against UNM but will need more disruptive plays like this to challenge UNLV effectively.

Looking at past performances provides insight into potential strategies for success. On February 24th versus Boise State Broncos, despite losing with a score of 65-70, FRES showed tenacity by rallying back from behind with an impressive fourth-quarter performance where they scored nearly half of their total points (27 out of 65). If they can channel that same energy and focus throughout all four quarters against UNLV, it could prove decisive.

The upcoming game presents an opportunity for redemption as well as strategic adjustments. The key factors will likely be improving three-point shooting accuracy and reducing turnovers while maintaining defensive pressure throughout each quarter.

Fans eagerly anticipating this matchup should mark their calendars for March 11th when these two teams face off at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas at noon local time (3 PM ET). The game promises high stakes and intense competition as both teams vie for victory – one seeking redemption and another looking to defend home court advantage. For those unable to attend in person, live coverage will be available via MW Network online streaming services – ensuring no one misses any action-packed moments between these conference rivals.
