The game, held at the Xfinity Center in College Park, was a showcase of Maryland's offensive and defensive capabilities. The home team opened strong with 33 points in the first quarter and maintained their momentum throughout the game. By halftime, they had already secured a comfortable lead with 57 points against Niagara's mere 17.

Maryland's shooting was particularly remarkable; they achieved a field goal percentage of 67 and were successful on nearly 59 percent of their three-point attempts. Their prowess inside was evident as well, scoring an overwhelming majority of their points from within the paint.

Defensively, Maryland also excelled by making it difficult for Niagara to find their rhythm. The Terrapins amassed an impressive total of 16 steals and blocked four shots over the course of play. This stifling defense led to numerous turnovers by Niagara—27 in total—which Maryland capitalized on by scoring 36 points off these opportunities.

The Terrapins' teamwork shone through as well with players combining for a total of 30 assists—an assist-to-turnover ratio that speaks volumes about their cohesive playstyle. On top of that, they dominated rebounding with a total count standing at 45 compared to Niagara's tally which stood at just over half that number.

On the other side, despite facing tough opposition from Maryland, Niagara managed to put up some resistance especially during the third quarter where they scored most heavily with an output totaling eighteen points. They also fought hard under the boards grabbing sixteen offensive rebounds which contributed to twelve second-chance points.

As fans look forward to more action-packed games from their beloved team, attention turns towards Maryland’s next challenge: facing off against George Mason Patriots at Xfinity Center on December third at six PM Eastern Time.
