From the onset, the Terrapins established a lead with a first-quarter score of 20 points to the Boilermakers' 17 and continued to build on it throughout the game. The home team's offense was firing on all cylinders as they outscored their opponents in every quarter. By halftime, Maryland had already accumulated 44 points compared to Purdue's 31.

The standout statistics for Maryland included a remarkable field goal percentage of fifty-five percent and an even more impressive eighty-nine percent from the free-throw line. Their two-point shooting was particularly effective, hitting sixty-two percent of attempts. The team also demonstrated excellent ball distribution with twenty assists and capitalized on turnovers by scoring twenty-five points off them.

Defensively, Maryland held strong as well, recording nine steals and limiting Purdue to forty-two percent shooting from the field. They dominated rebounds with thirty-five total grabs compared to Purdue's twenty-eight, which included nine offensive rebounds leading to twelve second-chance points.

The Boilermakers did put up resistance; they made seven three-pointers at a thirty-seven percent clip and fought hard for fast break points where they scored seven. However, their efforts were overshadowed by nineteen turnovers which proved costly against a disciplined Maryland side that only turned over the ball seventeen times.

As fans look ahead after this commanding performance by Maryland Terrapins basketball team, attention turns toward their next challenge: facing off against Ohio State Buckeyes at Xfinity Center in College Park on January 17th at 7:00 PM Eastern Time. This upcoming game will be available for fans to watch via Peacock network online broadcast services.
