From the onset, it was clear that the Lady Lions were on a mission to control the game. They started strong in the first quarter with 18 points and continued to build on their lead throughout each quarter, amassing an impressive total of 112 points by game's end. Their offensive execution was nearly flawless, boasting a field goal percentage of 62 and converting on 62 percent of their three-point attempts as well.

The Maryland Terrapins had moments of brilliance but struggled to keep pace with their opponents' scoring barrage. Despite trailing from early on, they managed to put up respectable numbers in various aspects of play. The team accumulated 76 points over four quarters, showing particular strength in the third quarter where they scored 28 points.

Maryland's players worked hard under pressure and demonstrated solid teamwork with a total of 16 assists during the match. They also showed tenacity on defense with seven steals and two blocks but were outdone by Penn State's more aggressive defensive play which resulted in ten steals and three blocks.

Offensively for Maryland, there were notable performances including making six out of fifteen attempted three-pointers resulting in a decent three-point shooting rate of 40 percent for them. In terms of two-point attempts, they made just under half at a rate of 45 percent from within closer range.

One area where Maryland excelled was capitalizing on turnovers; they scored an impressive total of nineteen points off turnovers thanks to their ability to convert defensive plays into quick scoring opportunities. However, this wasn't enough as Penn State managed an even higher number in fast break points totaling thirty-five which contributed significantly to their victory margin.

Looking ahead after this tough outing for Maryland fans is another opportunity for redemption as they prepare for their next challenge against Indiana Hoosiers at Xfinity Center located in College Park MD scheduled for January 31st at 7:00 PM Eastern Time Zone (ET).
