Terrapins' Efforts and Standout Performances

Despite falling short against UCLA, several Maryland players put forth commendable efforts. Saylor Poffenbarger led the team in scoring with 18 points and contributed four rebounds, showcasing her shooting skills by hitting 50 percent of her field goals. Mir McLean also made significant contributions offensively, adding 12 points to the scoreboard and grabbing four rebounds, demonstrating efficiency with a field goal percentage of 57 percent. Additionally, Sarah Te-Biasu displayed versatility by scoring 11 points and leading her team in assists with five.

The Terrapins showed resilience throughout the game but struggled to keep pace with UCLA's offensive firepower. They managed to draw fouls effectively, resulting in free throw attempts where they capitalized by making 73 percent of their shots from the line.

Bruins' Dominant Performance

On the other side of the court, UCLA showcased why they are considered one of college basketball's elite teams this season. Their offense was relentless from start to finish, achieving an impressive overall field goal percentage of 54 percent. The Bruins were particularly dominant inside the paint where they scored a staggering 44 points.

UCLA's defense also played a key role in their victory by blocking eight shots and stealing seven times from Maryland players. This defensive pressure contributed significantly to their win as it limited Maryland's scoring opportunities while creating fast break chances for themselves which resulted in them scoring twenty fast break points.
